Elise Tiregol

Elise Tiregol-Pala is the Director of AIP. She is a UCSD Graduate from Muir College with a BA in Sociology and a Minor in Psychology. Elise received her Master of Arts in Multi-Cultural Counseling for Higher Education from the CBB program at SDSU. She has been with the AIP since 1997 and counsels the students in the Advertising/ Public Relations fields, Graphic Design and the Arts as well as Anthropology and the Publishing/ Literature industries. Elise also coordinates our AIP London and AIP Sydney Programs. She loves international travel and to cook and can often be found spending her free time with friends and family.

Tricia Taylor Oliveira

Tricia Taylor-Oliveira is Assistant Director and an internship counselor for the AIP. She earned her MA in Counseling with a specialization in Career Counseling from the University of San Diego . Tricia has been with AIP since 2002, and specializes in the interest areas of Television, Radio, Production and Law, as well as coordinating the PRIME Program and internships for the International Migration Minor. Tricia also serves as the department's liaison with campus departments and student groups interested in having AIP present at or participate in their events and activities.

Annie Abbott first became interested in university counseling while serving as a peer advisor at John Muir College, UCSD, where she completed her undergraduate education. Her interest then took her to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she earned her masters in educational counseling. While at Cal Poly, Annie served as a graduate intern for Career Services and interim academic advisor with the Athletics Department.
Unable to stay away from San Diego for long, she returned to UCSD and became the Coordinator of Student Activities for the School of Medicine. However, Annie missed working with undergraduates, so it was with great enthusiasm that she joined the AIP team. She is our counselor for the areas of engineering, computer science, government, lab sciences, medical professions, environmental health sciences, and international studies.

Jennifer Snow is the Office Manager and Intake Advisor at the Academic Internship Program. She received her BS in Administrative Management and Information Technology with a minor in Advertising in June of 2006 from Central Washington University. While earning her BS, Jennifer had the opportunity to join the staff at CWU and get involved in Higher Education. After vacationing in San Diego and loving every moment of the sunshine, she decided to move to California where she could begin her career. Jennifer is very excited to be part of the Academic Internship Program and looks forward to serving UCSD's undergraduate students. You will find Jennifer spending her free time at the beach, reading, traveling and being with family and friends.

Aubrey Ramos is one of AIP’s Internship Counselors. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts at UCSB, she moved back home to San Diego. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of San Diego. As a graduate student, Aubrey worked with various populations as an intern before completing her program and joining AIP. She currently works with students who are interested in interning in the fields of Business, Government, Urban Studies and Planning, and Humanities. She also coordinates the Summer Program in Washington DC.

Kerry Shannon recently joined the Academic Internship Program as an internship counselor. Prior to working at UCSD, Kerry was working on completing her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of San Diego.  Kerry specializes in working with the students in the following fields: education, clinical and counseling, social services, public service minor and public health. In addition, Kerry also serves as the program coordinator for the University of California Center Sacramento (UCCS) Scholar Intern program.  In her spare time, Kerry loves to participate in triathlons, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
