AIP Sydney

The Academic Internship Program in Sydney offers students the opportunity to live and work in Sydney, Australia. Through this program, AIP partnered with Macquarie International at Macquarie University (MQU) to assist students in their internships abroad.

Practical experience in the workplace is an invaluable addition to classroom learning. An AIP Sydney Internship provides vital insights into a career field, experience in the global workplace, practical exposure to the demands of specific jobs and development of professional and personal skills. In addition to developing your resume/CV, an internship in Sydney will give you the opportunity to directly experience the many cultures and people who make up Australia. Participating in the AIP Sydney Internship Program offers you a unique opportunity to step outside your educational environment and experience Aussies at work.

With the help of an AIP counselor, you will find an internship in Sydney related to your academic and career interests. All majors are welcome. Australia has something for almost everyone, whether you’re interested in arts, media, science and technology, business, education, or anything in between.

You will live with fellow students in Sydney's North Shore. You will earn academic credit for your internship while experiencing first-hand the cultural atmosphere of the city. Also provided for
you are cultural tutorials to aid you in your time in Sydney.

INTERNSHIPS:

Macquarie University has established good working relationships with many organizations who participate in our internship program. Internships are offered in the arts, business, media, technical (engineering), museums, politics, and theatre. Your ability to secure an internship depends upon your self motivation, ability to meet deadlines, maturity, previous work experience and flexibility regarding organizations and work projects. Well prepared, open minded students normally experience few problems in securing an internship. The Macquarie Internship Program seeks to mirror the world of work and therefore securing an internship is a competitive process in the same way securing a job would be. Internships are routinely and formally monitored and all companies/organizations have been vetted by the Internship Office.
