
Established in 1976, UC San Diego's Academic Internship Program offers students an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge and analytical skills in diverse professional settings while earning academic credit. While AIP is housed in Earl Warren College, it is a campus-wide program. AIP facilitates a range of credit-bearing options designed around internship and service learning education. We offer:
The Academic Internship Program philosophy is shaped by the Warren College Motto of Toward a Life in Balance. We help students develop into Citizen Scholars by offering opportunities to integrate academic theory and ‘real world' practice, engage in research that explores the relationship between the two, and gain develop the professional skills needed for career success. AIP internships are about more than work experience; they are about facilitating opportunities that allow for academic, personal and professional growth. Approximately 800 students, across a wide variety of academic disciplines, enroll in the Academic Internship Program each year.
