Pronouns: she/her/hers

Alexis is a second year Revelle student majoring in Global Health. After graduating from UCSD, she plans to pursue a nursing program where she can connect her degree in health administration to hands-on patient care. She is passionate about contributing to her community and impacting individuals through her career and volunteer work. During her first year, she participated in the Triton Community Leadership Institute where she worked in unity with a group of diverse students to learn about social justice and participate in a variety of service projects. During September 2019, she participated in the Alternative Breaks Civic Engagement trip to Washington, D.C. and Virginia. While in Washington, D.C., she advocated to California Representatives and Senators on behalf of the Dream Act with 10 other UCSD students. At James Madison University in Virginia, Alexis’ cohort partnered with the JMU Civic Engagement Center to help create a program that can be implemented on the UCSD campus. They aim to use the strategies they learned to increase student engagement with important social issues. This trip inspired Alexis to encourage others to use their voice, get involved, and educate themselves on pressing social issues. As a second year, Alexis plans to become more involved on campus. This includes becoming a member of the UCSD Women’s Commision, participating in leadership workshops to strengthen her skills, and working with Triton Outfitters.
